Thousands raised for Cultus Lake firefighter injured in e-scooter crash

The community is coming together to support a volunteer firefighter in the Cultus Lake area.

According to a GoFundMe campaign, Shane Taylor “suffered a horrific accident on his electric scooter.”

The fundraising organizer, who says they are also a volunteer with the Cultus Lake Fire Department, explains the incident left Taylor in critical condition, with skull fractures, a traumatic brain injury, and a possible spinal injury.

“It’s going to be a long road ahead, and we’re all praying for his full recovery,” the fundraising page reads.

Money raised is set to go to Taylor’s wife and two children as they help him through his recovery.

The organizer says Taylor was a training captain with the fire department, also describing him as a “long-time devoted member” of the team.

As of Monday morning, more than $27,000 had been raised of the $50,000 goal.
