Surrey RCMP seeking evidence for shots fired in Newton

The Surrey RCMP is seeking evidence for an attack on a home in the Newton neighbourhood, near the KPU campus, this weekend.

Police responded to a report of shots they believe were fired some time between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on 130 Street Sunday.

In a release Monday, the RCMP said suspects fired weapons at a home from a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence home.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators say though they haven’t determined a motive, they believe the attack was targeted. Police say it was an isolated incident, adding there’s no evidence yet that it was gang-related.

The Surrey RCMP is asking anyone in the area, between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 12, with dashcam footage to call 604-599-0502 and quote file 202-67480.
