Surrey RCMP looks for witnesses in pedestrian hit-and-run

Mounties in Surrey are appealing to the public after an elderly pedestrian was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run Thursday morning.

The RCMP says it’s possible two vehicles were involved in the incident around 9:45 a.m. in the area of Martin Drive and 16 Avenue.

Police say paramedics took the elderly woman to the hospital, where she remained as of Thursday afternoon. In an update just after 1:30 p.m., the RCMP said, “the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.”

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have seen what happened or who may have dashcam footage from the area between 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. May 16 to contact the RCMP.
