Surrey RCMP looking for armed robbery suspects

Mounties in Surrey are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects who allegedly robbed a business at gunpoint last week.

Police say two men entered a business on 120th Street near 92nd Avenue around 5:30 p.m. on May 24.

“The two men then spoke with one of the employees and stole a cell phone as they walked out,” the RCMP said in a news release last week.

The RCMP says both men were in possession of a gun during the incident.

In an update Thursday, Mounties are releasing images of the suspects, in hopes the public may be able to identify them.

The first suspect is described as being about 6’0 tall and was wearing a black hoodie, a black trench coat, black gloves, black pants, and black running shoes at the time of the incident. Police say he was also carrying a black long gun.

The second suspect is described as approximately 5’11 tall, and was wearing a grey Nike hoodie, black pants, black gloves, black shoes, and was carrying a grey handgun at the time of the robbery.

Police say the two suspects fled the scene in a dark grey Dodge Charger with B.C. plates “NP-5798”.

“The investigation is ongoing and the investigative team is exploring a variety of potential motives as to why this crime occurred,” said Corp. Sarbjit K. Sangha. “We believe someone within the community may recognize the individuals responsible for this crime. We appeal to anyone with information to come forward and speak to officers.”

Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is being asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
