The Surrey RCMP says it’s currently responding to an “unfolding event” at a home on 88 Avenue.
Mounties say 88 Avenue is currently closed between 164 Street and 160 Street, including 162 Street.
There is a heavy police presence in the neighbourhood, but the RCMP says “at this time and there is no risk to public safety.”
A caller to CityNews indicated that schools in the area may have entered lockdown in response to the event.
Police are asking motorists to use 80 Avenue or 96 Avenue as alternate routes.
