Stabbing near Terry Fox Secondary in Coquitlam confirmed by RCMP

The Coquitlam RCMP has confirmed it’s investigating a stabbing near Terry Fox Secondary School that happened on Monday afternoon.

In an update on Tuesday, Mounties say they responded to reports of a stabbing near 1269 Riverside Drive in Port Coquitlam just after 2:45 p.m.

Corp. Alexa Hodgins tells 1130 NewsRadio that police aren’t releasing any further information, but adds that investigators will be on scene Tuesday.

“At this time, we are investigating all other avenues, which could include speaking to witnesses, attending the area, searching for video surveillance, and so there will be officers out and about in the community for the duration of [Monday],” said Hodgins.

Police have not released information regarding the extent of injuries or if there have been any arrests.

Hodgins says she expects to provide more details on the incident later Tuesday.
