Richmond RCMP seeking dashcam footage of August crash

Richmond police are looking for the public’s help to find footage of a crash in late August.

On Aug. 26, around 10:30 p.m., police say a Richmond RCMP officer discovered a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Westminster Highway and McCallan Road.

Witnesses there told police that a blue Honda Accord sped into a blue Mazda 3 which was making a left turn onto McCallan Road.

“As a result of the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in the front yards of two residences,” Mounties said.

Police say both drivers were taken to hospital. One remains in hospital with “significant injuries,” while the other driver was arrested and later released.

“Speed and impairment are considered factors in this collision.”

Now the Richmond Criminal Collision Investigation Team is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or captured it on video to contact the RCMP and quote file number 2024-27143.
