Mounties in Richmond say a man has been identified and subsequently arrested in relation to an unprovoked assault in that city earlier this month.
Mounties previously said they received reports of the assault along No. 3 Road south of Westminster Highway just after noon on Tuesday, July 2. The victim reported to police that he had been walking in the area when he was punched in the face by a man he did not know.
The victim suffered minor physical injuries and was treated at the scene, police said on July 5.
According to investigators, the suspect was last seen walking north on No. 3 Road toward Westminster Highway.
In an update Wednesday, Mounties say with the help of the public, the suspect was arrested and released on a “police undertaking with conditions.”
Mounties add that the investigation continues and no further information will be released.
