Richmond motorcyclist hospitalized after collision, Mounties looking for witnesses

The Richmond RCMP is looking for witnesses to a collision earlier this week after a motorcyclist was injured and sent to hospital.

Police say the crash happened on July 14 just before 9 p.m. along River Road near Barnard Drive.

“According to witnesses, a Black Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling Eastbound on River Rd. when it collided with a white 2021 Audi Q8. The Audi was travelling Westbound on River Rd. prior to making a left turn into a residential driveway,” Corp. Adriana O’Malley said in a statement on Friday.

Police say the motorbike rider suffered “significant” injuries and was hospitalized. Mounties add he remains in hospital in stable condition.

The RCMP says speed was likely a factor in the crash, and is now urging anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage of the incident to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2024-22064.
