Police in Port Moody are looking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who they believe broke into a restaurant twice in one night this week.
The Port Moody Police Department says the break-ins happened on April 9 around 11 p.m. and again on April 10 around 6:30 a.m.
Staff from the restaurant, located in the Moody Centre area, reported the break-ins to police on the morning of April 10.
“Through reviewing CCTV footage, it was learned the suspect entered the business twice overnight … making off with multiple electronic devices,” Const. Sam Zacharias said Friday.
Police are now releasing footage of the incident and suspect in hopes someone recognizes him.
The man is described as having long dark hair, tied in a bun at the time of the incident. He was wearing glasses, a puffy jacket, and had a backpack.
“This break and enter is one of six in the Moody Centre area of Port Moody in the past month. Of note, these incidents include break-ins to other businesses, parkade storage units and a construction site,” Zacharias said.
“Our frontline officers are increasing patrols in the area and we are asking the public to report any suspicious activity to us right away.”
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call PMPD officers at 604-461-3456 or by emailing tips@portmoodypolice.com.
