Three men were arrested Monday night after a man was allegedly shot by a pellet gun in Port Moody’s Newport Village.
Const. Sam Zacharias shared on social media that at around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of the BB gun assault.
“Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted and 3 male occupants were subsequently arrested,” he shared.
The arrests come after the PMPD said on Saturday it was investigating reports of both people and vehicles in the city being struck by BB gun pellets on Friday night.
On June 21, Zacharias said the PMPD officers were called to David Avenue near Forest Park Way after two men with an “airsoft-style rifle” were “randomly shooting at passing vehicles.”
Police said one pedestrian was shot and injured by the pellet, resulting in minor injuries. Last week, police said they were unable to find the suspects, who they believed to be teenagers.
Zacharias explained the investigation is ongoing.
