The BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) is looking for witnesses to an unsolved fatal hit-and-run that happened more than 20 years ago.
On April 19, 2003, shortly before 4 a.m., a truck driver discovered the body of 37-year-old Susan Davidson from 100 Mile House on Highway 97.
Davidson’s body was in the right lane of the southbound lane on the highway, just south of the junction with Highway 24, which is about 10 kilometres south of 100 Mile House.
The driver notified the police.
“Susan had been fatally struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled from the scene,” the BCHP said.
“Paramedics attended, but tragically, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
She was wearing a dark brown oilskin ankle-length coat.
“Highway 97 has always been a busy major traffic corridor. There is someone out there who knows what happened to Susan Davidson on April 19, 2003,” said Corp. Melissa Jongema, BCHP media relations officer.
Anyone who may have seen Davidson walking, who may have information about the hit-and-run, or who believes they may have hit something that they thought was an animal that night is asked to call the BCHP at 250-395-2456 and quote file 2003-1225.
