Police search for 2 suspects after man injured in Mission targeted shooting

A 57-year-old man has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Mission Saturday morning, Mounties have confirmed, and they are now looking for two suspects.

Crews were called out to the incident in the waterfront area on Duncan Avenue and Wren Street shortly after 10 a.m.

The victim was found in a houseboat along the banks of the Fraser River, the Mission RCMP says.

“Two suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival and have not been located,” Mounties say.

“No one else was hurt, and there is no indication that the general public is at risk.”

Police dogs and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services unit are helping the RCMP with the investigation.

Descriptions of the two suspects are not available, police say.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area Saturday morning is asked to call the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 and quote file# 24-15296.
