Airport parking company Park’N Fly announced Monday that its network, including data on nearly 1 million customers, had been breached by a “third party” last month.
The company says it can “confirm with certainty that no customer credit cards or passwords are stored on our servers and no payment information was compromised.” But, the company adds names and basic contact information may have been retrieved.
The information accessed may include “email addresses and mailing addresses and Aeroplan and CAA numbers,” the company says, but only to the extent that the customer had provided those details to Park’N Fly.
It says it discovered that the Park’N Fly network had been accessed between July 11 and 13, and upon discovery, launched an investigation with its cyber security partner.
“All platforms were fully restored within 5 days. Approximately 1 million customer files were accessed,” the company said Monday.
Park’N Fly says it’s contacted the customers whose information may have been impacted, directly through email.
CEO Carlo Marrello says the company deeply regrets “any concern this incident may have caused,” and that it’s “taking all necessary steps to safeguard” customer information.
