Two hikers are missing atop Grouse Mountain Wednesday morning, North Shore Rescue says.
In a post on Facebook, the search and rescue group says it received a call around 12:40 a.m. after two hikers became separated from a group along the BCMC trail Tuesday evening.
“Two of the hikers did not make it to the top where the other two were waiting for them. Unfortunately, the two who went ahead had the cell phones of the slower hikers in their backpack,” NSR explained.
NSR says it was able to head out overnight to search for the hikers, however, it “did not locate the subjects.”
Air and ground crews are back out there again Wednesday morning, and NSR is asking anyone hiking in the area to keep an eye out for the hikers.
“The only description we have is they are males in their early twenties, East Indian and wearing hoodies.”
Meanwhile, NSR says it was called out to Kennedy Fall Trail Tuesday afternoon after a hiker dislocated their knee.
An aircrew responded with a physician and was able to long-line the woman out. NSR explains she was then transferred to the BC Emergency Health Services.
