The North Vancouver RCMP says a man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after attacking strangers with a knife in Deep Cove on Saturday.
Mounties explain officers received reports of a man allegedly with a knife attacking cars near Mount Seymour Parkway and Deep Cover Road just after 3 p.m. Police say the man then apparently attacked a man on a motorcycle, striking his helmet, “but causing no injury.”
Mounties say when they arrived on the scene, they were able to take the man into custody, however, allege that while he was in police custody, he also assaulted a police officer.
“The quick actions of our officers led to the safe arrest of the suspect. We would like to thank the quick-thinking actions of a passerby motorist who assisted the motorcyclist by guiding them to safety,” Const. Mansoor Sahak said in a statement Monday.

North Vancouver man Alexander Currie has now been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, mischief, assault on a police officer, and possession of a weapon. Currie’s next court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
