Police in New Westminster are looking for the thieves who made off with soccer equipment stolen from a local club.
According to police, four large steel equipment storage boxes belonging to the New West Soccer Club were stolen between March 19-27.
The boxes are four feet long and painted brown with the club’s logo on them, police say. They were stolen from Glenbrook Middle School and Hume Park.
“It’s upsetting to see sports equipment stolen from these parks,” Sgt. Andrew Leaver said.
“It’s not just about the loss of gear, it’s about thieves taking away the ability for youths to play soccer where they’re able to grow and develop their skills.”
Police are asking nearby residents to check for CCTV footage of the thefts, and to contact them if anything is found.
