New West police look for video as search for high-risk man continues

Police in New Westminster are renewing their calls for help, this time asking for CCTV and dash-cam footage to help in the search for Magnus Manson, who has been missing since Monday.

Investigators say they’re looking for video from two specific areas.

The first is the area between 6th Street to 8th Street, and 8th Avenue to Front Street, on Monday between 9:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.

The second location is around the Port Mann Bridge, on the shoulder of the highway, on Tuesday, May 14, between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Manson, who’s been deemed a high-risk missing person, was last seen in the Uptown neighbourhood around 9 p.m. Monday.

“As time goes on the concern for Magnus’s well-being intensifies,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver Thursday. “Please check your CCTV and dash cam footage to see if you were in these locations at time specified. We need your help in finding Magnus.”

The 38-year-old Asian man is described as being 5’11” tall, weighs 180 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. Police say he typically wears his hair in a ponytail.

The man was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow sun decal over the left chest, black Lululemon joggers, and a black Lululemon puffer jacket.

Police are asking anyone who sees Manson to call 911 right away.
