Obnes Regis was sentenced to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and indignity to human remains.
Naomi Onotera was last seen leaving her Langley home in August 2021, and her remains were found in December of that year.
Regis confessed to the killing in May this year, and after time already served, he will remain in prison for the next 12 years, one month, and 17 days.
