Mounties in Airdrie, Alberta, have laid multiple charges involving child luring and sexual assault on a 29-year-old man from Nanaimo.
The RCMP says it began its investigation June 12 after getting reports a youth was sexually assaulted.
Investigators were able to determine the victim had been lured on social media before the assault.
RCMP have charged Callum Tanner Stewart with child luring, sexual assault and failure to comply with a release order.
Police say the suspect is currently before courts in B.C. for possessing and distributing child pornography.
He is scheduled to appear in a Calgary courtroom on Monday.
