Motorcyclist dies after Abbotsford crash

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) says a motorbike rider has died following a crash involving a car Wednesday night.

AbbyPD says officers were called out just before 10 p.m. to a collision on Townshipline Road just east of Lefeuvre Road.

“Arriving at the scene, officers identified a 55-year-old male as being the sole occupant of the involved motorcycle who appeared to have sustained serious and life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash,” police said in a statement Thursday.

Despite first responders’ best efforts, the motorcyclist died at the scene, police say.

The two occupants of the vehicle were injured in the crash and also taken to hospital.

Police add through initial investigations, impairment does not seem to be a factor in the incident.

AbbyPD is now urging anyone with information about the crash to contact the department at 604-859-5225.
