A mechanical issue on one of BC Ferries’ major vessels is creating long sailing waits Friday morning.
The Queen of Oak Bay has been pulled from service due to a problem with its backup power supply.
There is now at least a three-sailing wait on the Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay route, with the 6:20 p.m. sailing the next available for those without a reservation.
“If you have a booking on one of these cancelled sailings, you will hear from our Customer Service Centre who will let you know if we can fit you on an alternate sailing later today, or if your booking must be cancelled. In the case of a cancellation, we will refund your fees and/or fares,” BC Ferries explained on its website.
“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations.”
