Man’s death after fall from bus in Surrey prompts call for information

The Surrey RCMP is asking for anyone with information to come forward, after a man died in the Whalley neighbourhood Wednesday night.

Mounties say they were called to assist BC Emergency Health Services in the area of King George Boulevard and Old Yale Road just after 6:30 p.m.

An unresponsive man was found at the scene, with police saying he “had fallen while exiting a transit bus.”

“The male was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the RCMP said Thursday afternoon.

Investigators are trying to piece together the man’s movements prior to his death.

No further details are available at this time but police say an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.

The Surrey RCMP is asking anyone who may have information about what happened to contact investigators at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-120308.
