Langley shooting leaves 1 person hurt

The Langley RCMP says one person was taken to the hospital after a shooting was reported Tuesday morning.

Officers received calls from BC Emergency Health Services about the man who had been found on the side of 68 Avenue near 204 Street around 6:30 a.m.

BCEHS says the man was “conscious and breathing” when he was found, and his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Police believe the man was shot at a different location and are now working to determine where that was.

The RCMP explains officers are canvassing the neighbourhood. No motive has been identified and no other details were provided.

Mounties have 68 Avenue closed from 204 to 205 avenues, with the road expected to reopen later in the morning.

Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file 2024-13283.
