B.C.’s police oversight agency has been deployed to Richmond, after an overnight incident in the city.
Few details are being provided by the Independent Investigations Office (IIO), other than that it confirms it has been called in.
Images from the scene show police tape up around a home in the Southarm area.
The IIO says it hopes to release further details later Friday. The organization is deployed anytime someone is badly hurt or injured in an interaction with police.
We have reached out to the Richmond RCMP for comment.
