The Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is working in Chilliwack, after a suspicious death over the weekend.
IHIT says it’s investigating the death of a 50-year-old woman found inside a home on Chehalis Drive Sunday.
Police say Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of “sudden death.” Based on observations made at the scene, officers say they deemed the woman’s death to be suspicious, and called IHIT to take over.
IHIT says it continues to “work closely with the Chilliwack RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and the BC Coroners Service to determine the circumstance that led to the woman’s death.”
“IHIT investigators will be working with the Chilliwack RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit to advance this investigation and determine what exactly happened,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti.
If you have any information to share about the suspicious death, IHIT says you can reach investigators at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
