The Integrated Homicide Investigation team has taken over an investigation into a suspicious death in Hope.
Mounties responded to a report of a deceased person on Old Hope Princeton Way on Friday evening.
“Frontline police officers attended the scene and located the body of a 46-year old man, whose death appeared to be the result of homicide,” police said.
Investigators say the victim is a man from Chilliwack, but his name is not being released until his family is notified.
“We are in the beginning stages of our investigation,” said IHIT’s Sgt. Timothy Pierotti.
“We’re asking anyone with information to please come forward.”
Police say they believe the incident was isolated and there is no risk to the public.
