In less than a year of operation, fast-ferry service Hullo says it not only sailed with 100 per cent reliability in April, it has also seen 250,000 people sail with the company.
In a release Monday, the new company which sails between downtown Nanaimo and downtown Vancouver, says since its launch nine months ago, it has delivered over 95 per cent of all scheduled sailings.
“We’re proud to have a dedicated team that call the Island home, reflecting our commitment to supporting the local community, creating jobs and ensuring our crew achieve a healthy work-life balance,” Hullo CEO Alastair Caddick said.
“Our rapid expansion and overwhelming support from both locals and visitors demonstrate the demand for our reliable service and the positive impact we’re making on the region,” he added.
The update on Hullo’s service comes after all of the company’s inaugural sailings were cancelled in August last year due to weather concerns at the time.
The company says travel time between its two ports is about 70 minutes, which it says is almost 30 minutes faster than a BC Ferries service from Horseshoe Bay.
