Four arrested in Poland after alleged plan to ship explosives to Canada, U.S.

Poland’s National Prosecutor’s Office says four people have been arrested for an alleged plan to send explosives to Canada and the U.S.

According to the Polish government’s website, the parcels allegedly contained camouflaged explosives and dangerous material.

It says the group plotted to send these parcels — which “spontaneously ignited or detonated during land and air transport” — to countries in the EU and Great Britain.

The office adds that the group was attempting to test the transfer of these parcels to send them over to North America.

The investigation into this alleged incident began Aug. 5 based on information from Poland’s Internal Security Agency.
