Coquitlam RCMP seeking spitting suspect

Police are hoping to identify a suspect who allegedly spat at a woman in the Coquitlam Centre area Monday evening.

The Coquitlam RCMP says officers responded to a call about an assault on Ponderosa Street and Anson Avenue around 6:15 p.m.

Police say an adult woman was walking on the sidewalk when an unknown man spat on her, unprovoked.

The suspect ran away before police arrived on the scene.

He is described as a man in his late 40s, approximately 5’6″ tall, with a slim build, and medium-length curly hair. He was reportedly wearing a blue button-down shirt, and tan pants while pulling a black bag on wheels.

The Coquitlam RCMP is asking anyone with information about the suspect, or those who might have dashcam or surveillance footage, to call 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2024-16160.
