If you like street festivals and you live in Metro Vancouver, this is the weekend for you.

Vancouver’s largest cultural street festival, “Italian Day,” will return to Commercial Drive on Sunday, June 9 from noon to 8 p.m.

Organizers say the 14-block festival will feature a record number of over 200 participants, including 115 food vendors and trucks, and artists celebrating Italian heritage and the East Vancouver community.

This will reportedly be the first year of the festival to feature three beverage gardens where you can taste pairings of Italian food and wine.

Historically, those behind the event say it has drawn over 300,000 attendees.

In Surrey, a Car Free Day will return to Newton on Saturday, June 8.

Most of 137 Street, near Centre of Newton Mall will open to foot traffic only from noon to 8 p.m.
