Charges have been laid in connection with a hit and run that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy last year.
Kelowna RCMP say 30-year-old Brandon Kazakoff was arrested Friday and will be brought before the courts.
Kazakoff has been charged with dangerous operation causing death, failure to stop or remain at the scene of the accident, and assault with a weapon.
The teen boy was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Oct. 21, 2023, police say. Last year, the boy’s mother had alleged her son had been involved in an altercation before he was hit.
The RCMP had said there was a bear-spraying incident involving a group of teens in the Rutland area, and the victim was hit at a nearby intersection minutes later.
