Charges laid after man found with loaded gun: Surrey RCMP

Multiple charges have been laid against a man after the Surrey RCMP arrested a suspect with a loaded gun earlier this month.

According to Mounties, officers initially responded to complaints of a disturbance in the Guildford area on April 16 just after 5 a.m. When they arrived, police say they found the suspect, who reportedly had a gun on him.

When they tried to arrest the man, the RCMP says he ran from officers, but was caught shortly after.

“A loaded pistol was recovered at the scene,” the RCMP said in a release.

The Surrey RCMP says 27-year-old Bryce Scott Telford is facing three counts of firearms-related offences, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of breaching a court order prohibiting him from possessing firearms.

Telford remains in custody until his next court date.
