Canucks’ Quinn Hughes wins Norris Trophy as league’s top defenceman

After a career year, Quinn Hughes has won the James Norris Memorial Trophy.

The Vancouver Canucks defenceman received the award Thursday night at the NHL Awards ceremony.

Over the 2023-24 regular season, Hughes put up 92 points (17 goals and 75 assists) in 82 games and recorded a plus-minus of plus-38. He led all defencemen in points and assists and was fourth overall in the league in assists.

Hughes, 24, is the first Canuck in franchise history to win the Norris.
