The Ridge Meadows RCMP says a man was sent to hospital after a stabbing in Maple Ridge on Canada Day.
Mounties say at around 4:20 p.m. on July 1, police were called after reports of the incident on 224 Street.
“The victim on scene was suffering from stab wounds and was transported by BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) to Royal Columbian Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Const. Tisha Parsons shared on Wednesday.
Mounties say a man was arrested near the incident just a short time later, and he remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
“Police believe this to be a targeted incident given that it occurred between parties who were known to each other. It is believed that there is no further threat to public safety at this time,” Parsons added.
