Burnaby RCMP seeking Central Park assault suspect

The RCMP has released a sketch and the description of a suspect in connection to an alleged sexual assault in Burnaby’s Central Park.

Mounties say on the morning of February 19, 2024, a woman in her 80s was walking along a trail when she was approached by a stranger.

Police say the suspect allegedly groped and tried to kiss the woman.

Now Burnaby RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man described as 40 to 45-years-old with a long groomed beard and short thick black hair. At the time of the assault, he was reportedly wearing a grey nylon jacket and black pants.

The victim was not injured and officers say no similar incidents in the area have been reported recently.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2024-5930.
