BC Ferries cancels multiple Saturday morning sailings due to severe weather

Multiple sailings have been cancelled Saturday morning due to severe weather forecasts for high winds and “unfavourable sea state,” BC Ferries says.

The ferry service has cancelled the following sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay:

7:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
7:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
9:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
9:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
9:40 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
12:00 p.m. departing Swartz Bay

Between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay, the cancelled sailings are as follows:

6:15 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
6:15 a.m. departing Departure Bay
8:25 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
8:25 a.m. departing Departure Bay

Between Tsawwassen and Duke Point, the following sailings are cancelled:

5:15 a.m. departing Duke Point
5:15 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
7:45 a.m. departing Duke Point
7:45 a.m. departing Tsawwassen

Environment Canada has issued several wind alerts for Vancouver Island and the South Coast.

BC Ferries says if you have a booking on one of the cancelled sailings, customer service will contact you to advise whether or not they can accommodate you on later sailings or if your booking needs to be cancelled.
