At least one home destroyed in Surrey mobile home park fire Thursday

At least one home was destroyed and a second damaged in a fire in a mobile home park Thursday, the Surrey Fire Service tells CityNews.

Crews were called out to the Plaza Mobile Home and RV Park at 8266 King George Blvd. around 5:30 p.m.

“Firefighters arrived, and there was a fully involved mobile home,” Deputy Fire Chief Shelley Morris said.

“So we had about 16 firefighters on scene to extinguish this fire. There was some extension into the neighbouring mobile home.”

The status of the neighbouring home is unclear, she says, and it isn’t known how many residents have been displaced or where they will be staying.

Morris says no injuries have been reported and the fire was out by 7 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigations.
