The Vancouver Police Department says five of its officers sustained minor injuries while trying to stop the driver of a stolen vehicle early Friday morning.
The VPD says patrol officers spotted the stolen car around 1:30 a.m. driving west along East 35th Avenue near Knight Street.

Officers then saw the stolen car again at Cambie Street and West 37th Avenue, police say, which is when police claim the car then collided with two police cruisers, injuring the officers.
The circumstances around the collision are currently unknown. However, a witness to the incident tells CityNews that police officers may have collided with the stolen vehicle in order to stop the suspect.
According to the witness, police officers got out of their vehicles with guns drawn.
Vancouver Police officers arrested the driver and are now recommending multiple charges.
