4 family members dead after crash on Hwy 3 in Keremeos

A fatal crash in B.C.’s southern Interior has killed four members of an extended family, the RCMP says.

The Keremeos RCMP explains that the four adults died after a crash involving two cars and a tractor-trailer on Highway 3 in Keremeos on Wednesday.

“This is a terrible tragedy. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” Sgt. Jason Bayda said. “Our thoughts are also with the first responders and members of the public impacted by this incident.”

The crash happened around 11 a.m. and subsequently closed the highway for eight hours.

“During this time of year, we see a significant increase in traffic incidents on our roadways. Police are reminding everyone to slow down and remain alert to your surroundings,” Bayda added.

Mounties say that the occupants of the tractor-trailer were uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
