2 children missing from Vancouver’s Strathcona-Chinatown area

Vancouver police are looking for two children who went missing in the Strathcona-Chinatown neighbourhood Tuesday afternoon.

Police say 7-year-old Skyla-May and 10-year-old Tawny did not return to class after the lunch bell.

They were last seen on the playground at Strathcona Elementary school just before 1:00 p.m.

Tawny is roughly four feet tall, with light skin, dark shoulder-length hair, and was last seen wearing a long black sweater, blue pants, and red shoes.

Skyla-May has dark, shoulder-length hair, and is wearing a light grey long-sleeve shirt, a blue or grey hoody wrapped around her waist, and white or grey pants with pink boots.

Officers say there have been multiple sightings of the girls — most recently at International Village — but their whereabouts are not known.

The Vancouver Police Department says it is very concerned about their well-being given their age, cool temperatures, and nightfall.

Anyone who sees either child is asked to call 911 and stay with them until first responders arrive.
