17-year-old charged in relation to Surrey double stabbing

The Surrey RCMP says a teenager has been charged in relation to an assault in Surrey that sent two men to hospital last week.

Mounties say around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, they responded to a report of a fight at the intersection of 60 Avenue and 130A Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they found two men who had been stabbed. Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

Officers reportedly located the suspects and arrested them on Sept. 13.

“One of the suspects, a 17-year-old male, has now been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault causing bodily harm. The second suspect, an adult male, was released from custody without charges,” said Corp. Sarbjit K Sangha

The RCMP says the accused teen will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
