VanDusen brings back ‘Bridgerton’ with a contemporary cello performance

VanDusen presents Spring Strings poster
April 24 2023 –

VanDusen Botanical Garden is hosting Low Strung, a classically-trained cello group from Yale University, for the return of Spring Strings on Saturday, May 27 for two sessions, 12 p.m. or 4:30 p.m., on the Great Lawn.

Unlike a traditional cello concert, Low Strung is trending with their contemporary renditions of modern hits from artists like Coldplay, the Eagles, Queen, and even Avril Lavigne. Guests who purchase tickets to the event also have access to the dreamy 55-acre VanDusen Botanical Garden, before making their way to the Great Lawn for the main event.

The end of May typically offers violet wisteria blooming throughout the garden and the famous Laburnum Walk, an enchanting sight that should not be missed. The look and feel of the event will make visitors wonder if they are the newest addition to the Bridgerton cast, so naturally, costumes and Regency attire are more than welcome additions to the experience.

VanDusen Botanical Garden welcomes visitors to bring blankets and low chairs, as formal seating is not provided. La Glace, Chou Chou Crepes, Holi Masala, and Mr. Arancino will have a variety of food and beverages for sale so guests can enjoy the show accompanied by a picnic on the lawn.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the 12 p.m. show, and at 3:30 p.m. for the 4:30 p.m. show. Guests are encouraged to arrive before their selected show time to reserve a spot on the lawn.

There are a limited number of tickets available for this event and tickets are sold online. General admission will cost $29 per ticket and $25 for VBGA members. Please book tickets in advance by visiting https://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/vandusen-presents-spring-strings.aspx
