People around the world are looking to move to Vancouver, and this new study just officially proved it.
The West Coast Canadian city was just named the ‘world’s most popular alternative relation capital,’ and it beat out other big cities like Barcelona, Miami, and even it’s Canadian counterpart of Toronto.
Apologies to the 6ix but it seems like Vancouver has a leg up when it comes to relocation.
The study, conducted by Remitly, analyzed “Google search volumes for the phrase ‘move to city’ for 98 countries around the world.”
The study noted that “capital cities and the most searched for city for each country were omitted, in order to reveal popular alternative relocation choices for those looking to move abroad.”
Among all the other cities worldwide though, people were searching for moving to Vancouver the most. Who can blame them, after likely seeing photos of the sparkling shoreline and mountainous backdrop. The moderate climate compared to other Canadian cities probably helps as well, and of course, the ocean at its backdoor.
The sea seems to be a theme among people wanting to move abroad, with the likes of Miami, Dubai and Barcelona making the top 10 on the list.
Canada is also on people’s minds as a whole, as Toronto and Quebec tied for seventh place. Calgary also made the list, sitting in ninth place.
