Watch Canada’s Camryn Rogers compete for Olympic gold in women’s hammer throw

Camryn Rogers of Richmond, B.C., is going for the Olympic gold medal in the women’s hammer throw final at Stade de France in Paris on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Canadian owns the second and third-farthest women’s throws in the world. The athlete with the best toss, 2022 world champion Brooke Andersen, is not competing at Paris 2024 after being eliminated for fouling out at the U.S. trials.

After placing fifth in her Olympic debut in Tokyo, Rogers took silver at the 2022 world championships to become the first Canadian woman to medal in this sport at the worlds. She won gold last summer in Budapest.

On Sunday, Ethan Katzberg became the first Canadian ever to win Olympic gold in this sport with his dominant victory in the men’s event.
