VCC-Clark SkyTrain station closed due to unstable crane

TransLink closed the VCC-Clark SkyTrain station on Thursday due to an unstable crane nearby.

Service between Commercial-Broadway Station and VCC-Clark, the western terminus of the Millennium Line, was suspended around 11 a.m., TransLink said.

The crane is located at a development site on Keith Drive near Clark Drive and East 6th Avenue.

Vancouver police said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that traffic in the area was affected “as crews deal with a construction crane issue.”

Police said Thursday night that East 6th Avenue was still closed as of 9:30 p.m. PT.

Extra bus service has been added between Main Street-Science World Station and Glen Drive, TransLink said. The 84 bus has been rerouted and extended from VCC-Clark Station to Commercial-Broadway Station. Shuttle buses can be boarded at Commercial-Broadway Station or near East 2nd Avenue and Main Street.

The Expo Line and Canada Line were unaffected.

The City of Vancouver said it is aware of the situation at a development site on Keith Drive and the contractor is working with WorkSafeBC, TransLink, Vancouver police and the city to ensure the safety of the public and workers in the area.

TransLink will continue to provide updates on X.
