A runway at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will likely be closed for two days after an Amazon Prime plane overran a landing early Tuesday morning.
YVR said in a statement the CargoJet flight, operating a PrimeAir aircraft, overran the eastern boundary of YVR’s north runway around 1:45 a.m. PT Tuesday.
It said the crew of three safely got out of the plane and no injuries were reported. YVR fire and rescue attended the scene.
The airport said the north runway will likely remain closed for around 48 hours, affecting operations and flight schedules.
“We encourage passengers to check with their airlines for current flight schedules and status before heading to YVR,” the statement from the airport said.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said on Tuesday morning that it is deploying a team of investigators to gather information and assess the incident.
