Person set on fire near Surrey Central Station: RCMP

One person was lit on fire near Surrey Central Station Friday afternoon, according to police in the Metro Vancouver suburb.

In a statement, Surrey RCMP Const. Parm Kahlon said they received reports of an attack at about 1:10 p.m. PT, near the 10200-block of City Parkway.

Kahlon said that a man attacked another person, and then stole a white Mini Cooper with black stripes and the B.C. licence plate D80745. RCMP then say the man drove away from the scene.

In an email to CBC News, Sgt. Chris De Hart confirmed the victim in the attack had been set on fire.

Now, Mounties are looking for a suspect they describe as a man aged between 25 and 30 years old, with a moustache. He was last seen wearing black pants, a grey hoodie with black sleeves, and a green baseball cap with “Cariboo” written on it.
