A motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a Vancouver fire truck near Lost Lagoon on the Stanley Park Causeway.

Investigation is underway and part of the Stanley Park Causeway is closed

A motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a Vancouver fire truck responding to a call.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon near Lost Lagoon on the Stanley Park Causeway and part of the causeway will remain closed for the investigation, Vancouver Fire Rescue Services said in a statement.

The unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene, despite efforts by emergency personnel, and a full investigation will take place to determine what led to the fatal crash, according to the statement.

TransLink confirmed on social media that the crash has disrupted a number of its bus services accessing downtown Vancouver and the North Shore, while the City of Vancouver is advising motorists that the Lions Gate Bridge is also closed.
