It’s been about a week since a man died after the semi-trailer truck he was driving crashed through a bridge railing and plunged into a lake near Sicamous, about 110 kilometres northeast of Kelowna. The incident was the latest fatality on the aging Trans Canada highway bridge that has been slated for replacement for several years. As Brady Strachan reports, local officials have been raising alarms about it for a long time.
